Cockman Family News Letter
Happy New Year!
2012 is upon us and we are off and running again. We thank you for attending our concerts in 2011 and we hope to see you again this year.
To recap 2011, the Butterpats, our two oldest grandchildren, Arwen and Lorien, ages 10 and 11, competed in the national yodeling contests in Albuquerque, NM, at the Western Music Association Annual Showcase and Awards Show, and won two first place prizes: the "Harmony Yodeling Group of the Year" and the "Youth Harmony Award."
Caroline was selected the "Songwriter of the Year" by PowerGrass Internet Radio.
The family was chosen the "Bluegrass Gospel Group of the Year" by Southern Branch Bluegrass Radio.
The family was also selected as a North Carolina Council of the Arts Touring Artist Group.
Most recently, the family received the 2011 North Carolina Community Traditions award by the NC Folklore Society.
**YOU ARE INVITED**
This Saturday evening to the Mooresville Concert Series at the Joe Knox Theater located in the Charles Mack Citizens Center, 215 N. Main St., downtown Mooresville, NC. You may contact the Citizens Center at (704)662-3334 for information and reserve tickets. The doors open at 7:00 PM and the concert is at 7:30 PM. We will perform two 45 minute sets with an intermission between. We look forward to seeing you there!
